One person sent me an email asking “What happened to wisdom?” Good question! And how is wisdom defined again?

Wisdom is the special gift whereby the Spirit endows particular Christians with an understanding of God’s will and work as it relates to ________________________.

Charles Bryant, in Rediscovering the Charismata, defines it as:

“a practical application of knowledge (divine and natural) in _______________________ situations that call for the grace or favor of God.”

It is also particularly alarming to see Faith, Teacher, and Intercession score so low. But it is greatly encouraging to see so many people list Serving as a dominant gift, and that dominance doesn’t surprise me at all.

The Three-Tiered Implementation

It is easier now more than ever to have an impact on your world.

  • ___________________________
  • ___________________________
  • ___________________________

Identifying our gifts and then thinking of implementation strictly within our body of believers is ____________ ____________ ______. There are opportunities for service in our church, in our community and in our world. The only exception I see to this rule is the role of pastor. I believe the level of personal involvement necessary as a pastor makes in impractical in a world implementation, but still very possible in the church and community.

Conclusion

Just as the question is never “do I have gifts?” but “________________________________?” the question should never be “will you use your gifts?” but always_____________ will you use your gifts?” Use this mnemonic for OBEDIENCE as your starting point: (from Rediscovering the Charismata)

O – ________________ God’s calling
B – ________________ a study of the gifts
E – ________________ feelings and fantasies
D – ________________ to commit yourself to a gift
I – ________________ the gifts of others
E – ________________ with the gifts you think you might have
N – ________________ doubt God’s word and promises
C – ________________ all notions of pride over gifts
E – ________________ God to produce results
